Good news. This week’s idea came early in the week!
Side note, I also reread the blog posts so far and wanted to let you know I never plan to remake the cauliflower rice. It just wasn’t for me. Both taste and the time and effort to make it – haha.
Okay so what was my “God wink” moment?
Drum roll please…
It’s in 2 parts.
First part. I was making spaghetti, and I got to the last step where I needed to add the tomato paste. I was stuck when opening the jar. The lid was locked shut and the jar was wet from the condensation being in the fridge. Not a great start. I tried with all my might and nothing. I instantly thought to get my Dad, cuz he can open anything. Haha yeah well now I’m living on my own, so I had no choice but to open it myself. I grabbed a towel and tried to get a grip on the jar. After some more tries nothing would make it budge. But I kept going… and luckily enough it opened. So excited. All my worries gone. Because truly without the tomato paste, we’d have a beefy stew of some sort.
Isn’t it amazing we rely on our Father’s? Even when he’s not there, out of habit and instinct we look to our Father. How much more we should rely on our Heavenly Father?
Now for the second part. After cooking the spaghetti, I had to do the not so fun part. Cleaning up. So, I was washing the dishes. And once I was done, I got to the point of taking the plug out. And this time it took a little to get it open, also like the lid. It’s not like I just struggled with a silly little jar, but now here I was struggling with the sink plug. When it did come out, something wasn’t right. Half of the metal plug was missing. Washing away the suds and foam I could see the issue, more clearly. The metal thing that goes inside the plug was inside the sink thing… haha okay I’m tryna be descriptive. But what really is it… one sec imma google it. It’s a strainer! The metal rod thing was stuck in the strainer hole. In my attempt to retrieve the metal rod thing that would hold the plug together. I poke my finger, but the metal thing fell…
Yep that’s it. I thought she’s a goner. Thinking I could use the pieces I have left to make it work. But nope. It wouldn’t work as a plug anymore. Only thing left was to do to fix the plug, was to do something I haven’t done before. And that was to unscrew the “P trap”. See now I learnt something new that day. That there’s a thing called a “P trap”. How cleaver it is. I thought surely, it’s designed to retrieve foreign objects that fall… nope. Little did I know it’s designed to prevent sewer gas and odour entering our home! How cleaver! We def don’t want those odours.
But anyway, I YouTubed, which we all do now when trying to learn something new. I YouTube first how to open the “P trap” and did it. Once I opened it up. Boi ya! That metal thing was in the little pipe shaped as a “P”. But also, there are these 2 little black screws. Definitely they’re not meant to be there.
So, what’s God saying through this. Is it that we need to try learn things for ourselves? Maybe. Or that just because we cannot see something is there, doesn’t mean it’s not there? Well, that is true.
Actually, He spoke to me about second chances and in Him we can run back to Him. He is like that “P trap”. Oh how I wish it had another name. But when we fall… haha like down the drain (this was a first for me), He is there to help us. Also, maybe we’re scared to fall. But you know what?! Just like the “P trap” designed to prevent sewer gases from entering the house, it also is used to retrieve foreign objects that fall past the strainer – God is also many things. He helps us out of things, through things, protects us from the evil one.
Today think about the one thing you avoid because you’re scared. And if not that, what’s something you feel so far from God that He wouldn’t welcome you into His arms? For the latter one, this is a lie from the Devil. In fact, God is always there, and to Him a sin is a sin. Whether it be murder or telling a white lie.
Look to Him in your day. Don’t be discouraged. We’re not all perfect, though how badly we wish we wouldn’t make mistakes. God is loving and gracious, always forgiving. Unlike the world, as you grow to know Him, you’ll realise in His history He is slow to anger and always forgiving. In Luke Chapter 15 from verse 11 you will find the parable of the Parodical Son, how he comes home. Notice both the sons were with the father but one ran off to do his own thing. But as we touch on second chances, his Father never stopped LOVING him, his own son. Just how we were all meant to live with God and God with us, until sin in the Garden of Eden when we were separated. But as we realise, we are all sinners and need God – to fill our void in our hearts and receive forgiveness and salvation – then we can come back to Him, in His arms and reconnect. To rekindle our relationship with Him who LOVED us from the beginning.
Run to Him today. And just because you don’t see something or others in your life don’t see what’s truly happening in your life, doesn’t mean nothing’s happening. Come to Him in our times of trouble (and in times of peace) and offer Him your worries and He will carry them for you. Like as a little kid you’d run to your parent, we can run to Him. Things like opening lids or getting fallen objects, isn’t too hard for Him. For He can part the sea, He can multiply food (also this week I felt so blessed the morning I cracked 2 eggs for my breakie to find 3 egg yolks – more protein hehe), He can open the eyes of the blind, He can cast out demons, He can forgive our sins and wash them away in the blood of Jesus.
As we grow other, we seek independence, but if we don’t depend on God, how can we have TRUE LIFE? Life after death and live with Him – which is His will from the beginning.
God, You Amaze Me!

Luke 15:20 NIV
So he got up and went to his father. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.
